The Waste Exchange (hereinafter also referred to as the Waste Commodity Exchange) is a section of the Czech Moravian Commodity Exchange in Kladno, established for trading commodities, which are of waste or secondary raw material in character. Classification of the commodity as either waste, or secondary raw material is decided by their other use, hence the possibility of their further profitable processing. Secondary raw material generally has non-zero value and its producer is trading it for a price on the exchange contract. With regards to waste, it is on the contrary, the producer demands its liquidation and pays for the negotiated price of the service himself. Apart from trading commodities, CMKB also provides services for collective systems dealing with return collection and recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. The Exchange Clearing Centre, s.r.o., one hundred percent subsidiary company of CMKB renders services as the clearing centre to these systems.
